• Does acne go away by itself?
It depends on the severity of the acne.
For some, acne diminishes or disappears after puberty. For others, special treatment is needed.

• Does ice soothe acne?
Not exactly.
Ice soothes inflammation because it constricts blood vessels. But using ice or ice-cold water too often can dehydrate the skin.

• Can I get rid of acne completely?
Yes, of course!
Patience and persistence are key factors in any type of treatment.

• Do coffee and chocolate make acne worse?
Yes.
There are studies that show an increase in acne after increased chocolate intake.
Frequent coffee drinking reduces sleep quality and raises stress levels – things that have been shown to worsen acne.

• Does stress cause acne?
Not exactly.
Stress doesn’t cause acne by itself. But, if you already have acne, stress will make it worse.

• Do people notice my acne?
It gets noticed as much as the color of your hair and eyes.
Negative feelings about something that is temporarily a part of you are more damaging than the “problem” itself.
Focus on your health, not your appearance!

• Does acne mean I will age slower?
Not exactly.
Acne is almost always accompanied by oily skin. Oily skin ages slower because it stays supple for longer.
It’s possible to have dry skin and acne – in which case skin aging doesn’t slow down.

• I’m over 25 and still have acne. Is this normal?
Yes.
There’s enough data to show that acne affects people at any age.

• What’s the fastest way to get rid of acne?
There isn’t one.
It is recommended that any new product/treatment be used for a minimum of three months.
There are ways to hide a pimple, but there is no way to “get rid” of acne in a day.
